Matt is a French/Portuguese mechanic working in Earlsfield, south west London. His love affair with bikes and mechanics started as a child in Le Mans, where his grandfather was the gatekeeper at the famous racecourse (ask Matt to show you the key to the Le Mans track, which he inherited).

From a young age Matt could be found tinkering with engines under his ‘grandpere’s’ skillful instruction. Off-season the young Matt rode his push bike around the track, pretending it was a motorbike. He was 15 when he finally got his hands on his first scooter and he has never looked back.

In 2009, Matt combined mechanics with his other passion, film, and made a documentary following his project to transform a Triumph Thunderbird Sport into a Streetfighter, cafe-racer style. His skill as a mechanic and filmmaker earned him recognition from Streetfighter Magazine, who commissioned Matt to film their online video content.

Matt’s passion and enthusiasm for motorbikes spills over into everything he does. Engines are in his blood. And judging from these photos of his young son he has firmly passed that gene on!
